Colin grew up on a ranch in East Texas with with a healthy appetite for Hitchcock and British Sitcoms.
Beginning her career designing costumes for theater, opera, and puppetry, Colin developed a keen ability to tell story through costumes.
Since finding her home in film in 2009, she’s designed over a dozen features, numerous shorts, music videos, and commercials.
Her feature work has travelled the festival circuit, taking home wins from Tribeca, Venice, Sundance, and SXSW.
Her work is marked by the impressionable, layered, and authentic characters that she brings to life from script to screen.
Recent design highlights include offbeat wedding comedy PALM SPRINGS, starring Andy Samberg and JK Simmons and Nia DiaCosta’s LITTLE WOODS (Neon), starring Tessa Thompson and Lily James; the Neo-Western took home the Nora Ephron Award from Tribeca in 2018. Additional favorites include the colorful world Texas roadside ‘breastraunt’ in Andrew Bujalski’s SUPPORT THE GIRLS (Magnolia), celebrated 1980’s set COMPUTER CHESS, which won the Alfred P. Sloane award at Sundance in 2013, and NATURAL SELECTION, which won Grand Jury and Audience Award at SXSW in 2011.
She enjoys collaborating on projects that create space for emerging identities and voices to be seen and heard. She has a sweet-tooth for a good character comedy and westerns.
She is a proud member of the Costume Designers Guild Local 892 and IATSE Local 484; she is represented by Artistry.
